WHEREAS, It is the tradition of the Washington State House of Representatives to recognize excellence in every field of endeavor; and
WHEREAS, Prairie High School's Faith Tarrant, through patience, a belief in her abilities, and the support of her community, concluded the 2024-2025 season with a historic and record-breaking victory in the 3A state championship; and
WHEREAS, On February 21, 2025, Faith Tarrant, with her 114th career pin, enshrined herself in Clark County history by becoming Clark County's first four-time state wrestling champion; and
WHEREAS, Faith Tarrant finishes as the 24th wrestler to win four state titles in Washington State; and
WHEREAS, She concludes her high school career with a third consecutive undefeated season, a 116 to 3 record, and ranked number 7 nationally in her weight class by USA Wrestling; and
WHEREAS, Through her abilities on the wrestling mat and her vocalness to encourage respect and hard work in her community, Faith Tarrant not only cements herself a champion, but an inspiration to future athletes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State House of Representatives congratulate Faith Tarrant on her extraordinary victory at the state wrestling championship, and congratulate Coach Rob Smith, Prairie High School, the team's fans, and the community of Vancouver for this accomplishment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to the Prairie High School's Wrestling Team and Head Coach Rob Smith.
