AN ACT Relating to members of city and town legislative bodies serving the city or town in additional part-time capacities; and amending RCW 35.21.770 and 35A.11.110.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
Sec. 1. RCW 35.21.770 and 1974 ex.s. c 60 s 1 are each amended to read as follows:
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the
legislative body of any city or town, by resolution adopted by ((unanimous))
a two-thirds vote of the full legislative body, may authorize any
of its members to serve as volunteer ((firemen)) fire fighters or
reserve law enforcement officers, or both, and to receive the same
compensation, insurance and other benefits as are applicable to other volunteer
((firemen)) fire fighters or reserve law enforcement officers
employed by the city or town.
Sec. 2. RCW 35A.11.110 and 1974 ex.s. c 60 s 2 are each amended to read as follows:
