Standardizing long-term care insurance.

          AN ACT Relating to long-term care insurance policies; and adding a new section to chapter 48.84 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.84 RCW to read as follows:

          The commissioner shall develop, by rule, a basic core long-term care insurance policy with a maximum of nine optional supplemental benefit plans.  This long-term care insurance benefit package shall be modeled after the ten standard medicare supplement benefit plans available in this state on the effective date of this act.
