Making an appropriation for miscellaneous state employee child care costs.

          AN ACT Relating to child care; and making an appropriation.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  The sum of one million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for the biennium ending June 30, 1995, from the general fund to the department of social and health services state employee subcommittee of the child care coordinating committee for the purposes of miscellaneous items, including:  Subsidies to state employees including vouchers and sliding fee scales; for use in operating costs of child care centers not related to construction, such as developmental items that are not considered equipment; and start-up costs and child care demonstration projects that will benefit state employees covered under chapters 41.06 and 28B.16 RCW.
