Requiring compliance with chapter 39.12 RCW of public works.

          AN ACT Relating to public contracts; adding a new section to chapter 39.04 RCW; creating a new section; and repealing RCW 43.82.015.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 39.04 RCW to read as follows:

          Any work, construction, alteration, repair, or improvement, other than ordinary maintenance, that the state or a municipality causes to be performed by a private party through a contract to rent, lease, purchase, or operate any part of the project by the state or a municipality shall comply with chapter 39.12 RCW.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  Section 1 of this act shall not apply to any project for which a call for competitive bids was made before the effective date of this act.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 3.  RCW 43.82.015 and 1987 c 321 s 1 are each repealed.
